SIUC Undergraduate Research Scholarship
Research is an important part of the undergraduate experience. Students engage in enriching experiences that allow them to explore their intended majors, develop relationships with faculty in their field, and gain valuable research and critical thinking skills. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research has established the SIUC Undergraduate Research Scholarship to be awarded to a new SIUC freshman. Students must have a 23 ACT score (or equivalent) and a strong academic record. The scholarship is valued at $4,000 for the academic year.
To be considered for this award, applicants must submit this application, a letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher, and be admitted into SIUC by March 1 prior to the fall semester of attendance. Students receiving this scholarship will be enrolled in the Saluki Research Rookies Program where they will work with a faculty member in their field of interest. The deadline for this application is March 15.
